About Me
Jacqui Roberts
Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling Registered Member MBACP
As a BACP registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I am deeply committed to supporting you through life's challenges, whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, work-related stress, or relationship difficulties. My private practices, located in Chester and North East Wales, offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I am available for in-person sessions, as well as over the phone and online, with flexible appointments offered Monday through Sunday, including evenings.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to your individual needs, drawing from a variety of methods including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and Solution-focused therapies. I am particularly interested in how our early experiences and relationships shape who we are today and how we can grow from a deeper understanding of ourselves.
In addition to traditional therapy, I offer Pre-Therapy, a unique and compassionate approach for individuals who are contact-impaired, including those experiencing regression, psychosis, learning disabilities, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. For this type of therapy, I also provide home visits to ensure that those who need it most can receive the care they deserve.
Whether you seek short-term support or long-term psychotherapy, you don’t need to commit immediately. Our initial consultation is an opportunity to discuss your needs and how we can work together. I am here to help you build resilience, self-awareness, and the tools needed for lasting change and personal growth.

Improve Your Life
Improving your life begins with understanding and addressing the challenges that hold you back. At My Progress Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work with you to uncover the underlying issues, whether they stem from past traumas, present stressors, or the desire for personal growth. Through a tailored, compassionate approach, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Together, we can develop the tools and strategies needed to foster resilience, enhance your relationships, and create lasting positive change, empowering you to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
My Services
With offices conveniently located in Chester and Denbigh, and the option of virtual sessions, I provide the following therapies:
Humanistic Therapies
Humanistic therapy emphasises personal growth, helping individuals recognise their strengths and overcome obstacles to reach their full potential. It provides a supportive space for exploring mental, emotional, and spiritual development, empowering clients to achieve their goals.
Person-Centered Therapy
Person-centred therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, is a humanistic approach focusing on how individuals consciously perceive themselves. It emphasises the natural drive to reach full potential, which can be hindered by life experiences affecting self-worth.
Family Therapy
Family therapy helps members understand each other, change negative behaviours, and resolve conflicts. Suitable for all ages, it also benefits individuals. By addressing family dynamics and stressors, therapy breaks unhelpful patterns and fosters stronger & healthier relationships.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy
Solution-focused therapy (SFBT) is a brief, goal-oriented approach that emphasises building solutions over solving problems. It acknowledges current issues and past causes but focuses on using individual strengths and resources to achieve future goals.
Play Therapy
Play therapy helps children express and process emotions through play, providing a safe, natural way to communicate at their own pace. It's especially beneficial for those who find traditional therapies stressful, allowing them to explore their thoughts and feelings more comfortably.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy, or relationship counseling, helps resolve issues in intimate relationships. Conflicts are natural, but when they impact well-being, outside support is beneficial. Unlike individual counselling, couples therapy involves both partners working together to strengthen their bond.
Walk & Talk Therapy
Walk and talk therapy, or outdoor therapy, takes counselling sessions outside, incorporating nature into the process. It may involve walking in settings like forests or urban areas, using the environment as part of therapy. This unique approach blends physical movement with emotional healing.
Eco Therapy
Eco therapy is based on the belief that we are deeply connected to the earth and our environment. By nurturing this connection, we can find balance and calm, benefiting our mental health. Rooted in systems theory, it views individuals as part of interconnected ecosystems, where each part influences the whole.
